Volunteer Week – Let’s Celebrate the Dedication of 4,500 Passionate Volunteers
Terrebonne, April 15th, 2025 – As part of National Volunteer Week, taking place from April 27th to May 4th, 2025, the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ), in partnership with Kimpex, wishes to pay tribute to the 4,500 volunteers whose outstanding commitment makes snowmobiling possible across Quebec.
Behind every trail carved through the winter landscape is the tireless work of passionate individuals. Each year, over 800,000 hours of volunteer time are dedicated to planning, developing, marking, maintaining, and securing the 33,000 kilometers of trails throughout the province. These volunteers – the true backbone of the network – also negotiate land-use agreements, conduct patrols, organise events, train newcomers, and foster the camaraderie that defines the snowmobiling community.
A meaningful and impactful recognition program
Recognizing the crucial role these unsung heroes play, the FCMQ established a structured volunteer recognition program in 2013, funded by a symbolic $1 deduction from every trail permit sold. Thanks to our partnership with Kimpex, this initiative evolved into the Kimpex Volunteer Action Program in 2015.
This program awards 200 gift cards worth $250 through a random draw, totaling $50,000 in prizes, distributed directly to volunteers from the FCMQ’s 196 member clubs. While modest compared to the value of their contributions, this gesture reflects our deep appreciation for their dedication.
Thank you for keeping the passion alive, season after season
On behalf of the entire FCMQ and Kimpex teams, we extend our heartfelt thanks to each volunteer for their time, energy, and love of snowmobiling. Their commitment is a shared legacy that benefits the entire community and helps position Quebec as a world-class winter destination.
