HOW TO BECOME A TRAIL WARDEN?
The following points define you? :
Openness, honesty, courtesy, dedication, respect for the law and discretion.
· Wanting to promote safety
- Advancing the sport of snowmobiling
- Carrying out the necessary checks on snowmobilers
- Getting involved in rescue operations and other social and cultural events
- Raising awareness among snowmobile users of the need to adopt safe behaviours when practising their favourite activity
If you answered YES to all of these questions, the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec would be pleased to meet with you and provide you with trail warden training!
We are looking for trail wardens who would like to volunteer with FCMQ clubs.
If you know your club's area well, it will be all the easier and more pleasant for you to keep users well informed.
How to proceed?
You must complete the registration form1 (from January 1st to August 1st inclusively), which will be sent to your local snowmobile club, in order to apply to become a trail warden. The club will then register you for the course (note that the club reserves the right to register someone or not for the course). This one-day course is given in the autumn of each year (November-December) on a weekend day. These courses are offered in all regions of Quebec

Here are the prerequisites for becoming a trail warden:
Mandatory requirements:
- • Not having any criminal offenses related to driving a road vehicle or an off-road vehicle in the past 5 years, except for exceptions.
- No criminal offence related to driving a road vehicle or off-road vehicle in the last 5 years, with some exceptions
- Be 18 or over
Other conditions
- Be recommended by your club and/or federation.
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Be of good behaviour and refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages during patrols
- Certify the successful completion of the "trail warden" training course
- Own and operate a snowmobile that complies with regulations (Article V1.2)
- Know your club's sector so you can keep users well informed
- Have a basic knowledge of mechanics
- Knowledge of first aid practices?
