General Information:

The first signs that you’ve arrived in the Eastern Townships come from the mountains. When you realize that the foothills of the Appalachians shape the region’s landscape, you understand just how pervasive the mountains are. The landscape also features graceful wooded valleys that blend with rounded peaks reaching up to 1,000 meters in elevation.

Location:

Located about 80 kilometers from Montreal and roughly 100 kilometers south of Quebec City, the Eastern Townships are primarily accessible via Highway 10 from Montreal’s South Shore and Routes 55 and 147, which lead south to the United States. Its 300-kilometer border with the states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont gives it the rare opportunity to experience a sense of openness toward the United States on a daily basis.
