In accordance with the Act respecting off-highway vehicles, every snowmobile owner is required to carry a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance. This coverage is designed to compensate for any material or bodily damage caused by your vehicle. It is mandatory for all snowmobile drivers, whether riding on or off trail.

As the official insurer of the FCMQ, Intact Insurance offers liability insurance at a preferential rate, available exclusively to FCMQ members. By purchasing your trail permit, you automatically become a member and benefit from $1,000,000 in coverage.

This insurance, included in the cost of your annual trail permit, protects each member in the event of an accident. Thanks to the strength of the FCMQ network, the cost remains highly advantageous at only $30.80.

Reimbursement of civil liability insurance

Have you purchased your trail permit with insurance and wish to cancel the civil liability insurance portion? You can request a refund by completing the form provided for this purpose.

  • Notice received within 10 days
    Depending on the effective date of the insurance—100% refund of the amount paid.
  • Notice received after the 10th day
    Partial refund, calculated according to the Cancellation Schedule attached to your F.P.Q. Policy No. 1.

  • Notice received before the effective date
    Insurance — 100% reimbursement of the amount paid.
  • Notice received after the effective date
    insurance — no reimbursement.
