Lucky winner of Snowmobile Dream Vacation Contest announced
February 23, 2012 - The contest, held as part of the Open House event which saw snowmobilers get free access to Quebec`s world-class snowmobile trail network on February 11th and 12th, was organized by the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec and coordinated via the event`s dedicated Internet microsite. Held on February 20th, the draw`s Grand Prize winner was Patrick Frenette of Québec City. Mr. Frenette winner will receive a snowmobile dream vacation for four persons at the prestigious Fairmont Manoir Richelieu, a prize valued at $4,500 and which includes: five nights at the Manoir, five breakfasts at the Bellerive restaurant, five four-service dinners at either the Bellerive or Saint-Laurent restaurants (alcohol not included) and, if necessary, indoor snowmobile parking (maximum two snowmobiles per room) and two FCMQ weekly trail permits.
Congratulations to the Grand Prize winner and thank you to all who took the time to participate. The Open House event was a startling success, as evidenced by the impressive number of participating snowmobilers. January 15th - 21st is International Snowmobile Safety Week
January 11, 2012 - As decreed by the International Snowmobile Council, this week aims to sensitize snowmobilers about safe snowmobiling practices as well as promoting this winter sport which is enjoyed by more than four million enthusiasts in both Canada and the United States.
Over the course of this week, snowmobile associations and clubs across North America organize special prevention and awareness activities whose purpose is to promote key safety themes. Snowmobilers will be called upon to stop for volunteer trail wardens who will be in out in greater numbers. Fellow snowmobilers, why not take advantage of this opportunity to thank these dedicated individuals who willingly devote their time to educate snowmobilers about safe riding practices?

December 20, 2011 - The snowmobiling season is slow in starting in most regions of Quebec this winter. Despite several clubs being up and running, the mild weather of recent weeks has certainly not been conducive to freezing bodies of water. If riding has begun in your area, the FCMQ wishes to remind you to be extra vigilant when appraching waterways and to cross only where there are clearly marked trails maintained by the local snowmobile club.
